In a 100-word response, three small typos can drop your band. Keep this open while you practise Email and Discussion — and run the 60-second check before every submit.

  1. Read your response from bottom to top — it isolates each sentence so typos jump out.
  2. Check every he/she/it verb has its -s.
  3. Scan for the homophones above (its/it's, their/there).
  4. Confirm each sentence has a capital letter and end punctuation.
  5. (Email) All three bullet points covered? Greeting + close present?
